Lisbon Tram Sound Effects Library

Get ready for a ride on the wild side with Tram 28 Underworld - the latest experimental project that will make your ears tingle! What is it, you ask? Well, it's a collection of sounds recorded from the most famous transportation line in Lisbon, the Tram 28. This beauty connects Martim Moniz with Campo Ourique, and passes through the coolest districts like Graca, Alfama (where we lived), Baixa and Estrela.

But wait, it gets even better! These trams are not just any ordinary trams. They're original and date back to 1930! Imagine that, still in use for public transportation! The rattles, the squeaks, the stops and starts, and the twists and turns through small alleys on the railways make the whole journey so unique and exciting.

To make this experience even more surreal, I recorded all the sounds using a contact microphone on windows, wood, and the floor of the tram.
