Scarecrow Sounds, Mechanical Sound Effects For Sound Design & Music Production

We all know scarecrows. Normally you can find them silent all over the world in different fields standing there in silence.

But not the ones I have recorded in Bali. They creating some incredible sounds that you can hear from miles away. Balinese people are masters of handcrafted art and so are the creative scarecrows.

I recorded one near Sidemen what is east of Bali and another at the famous Jatiluh rice fields what is northwest of Bali. Probably one of the most unique and beautiful rice field terrasse I have ever seen and I went to many Asian countries.

The sound takes the rhythm of the wind and the stronger the wind blows the harder the hits. Perfect for any kind of sound design or music production. For drones, pads or single kicks, these sounds are perfect.

Besides for sound design and music production, this is a great soundscape for post-production as well if background rice field ambience is needed.

To get rid of the ambience, I used contact microphones as well and recorded the vibrations from the wood trunk.
