Rotary Phone Sound Effects Library

I stumbled upon a designer wedding store in Limassol, Cyprus and saw a window display of vintage rotary phones. I approached the owner, Victoria, and asked if I could record the sounds of the phones. She was surprised by my request but allowed me to use a back room in the store to record.

I recorded the sound of lifting, hanging up, and dialing the phones, using a Usi Pro and an AKG C 411 contact microphone. The sound effects library includes the contact microphone recordings and a stereo mix of the recordings.

The phones I recorded were from 1980-1990 and included Siemens from Germany, Ericsson Dialog from Sweden, and GPO from Great Britain.
