Kuala Lumpur Airport Ambience! Sounds Of Malaysia

In December 2019 we were traveling from Madrid to Kuala Lumpur and I started recording the ambience in the baggage claim area at the KL airport. It was packed and very busy. We had to wait for our luggage and you can hear the creaking of the conveyor belt, people chatting in different languages, footsteps and a large number of people coughing in the airport.

When you are surrounded by hundreds of people in a confined space, it has always been part of a soundscape hearing people cough.

I've noticed in all of our recent trips that this has changed drastically and when people coughed, all eyes were on them.

After we got our suitcases, I recorded sounds in the toilet and outside of the airport.
KL is a busy airport and if you step outside you can hear the security guards whistling. The passing cars, taxis, buses, and motorcycles with their horns can be heard from near and far.
