Explore the Mesmerizing Bat Sounds of Tham Lod Cave!

Step into the world of one of Thailand's most magnificent caves, Tham Lod Cave, located in the Pang Mapha district of Mae Hong Son. Admire the stunning limestone stalactite formations and ancient coffins, but be prepared to be captivated by the bats and swifts.

During mating season in February, we waited for hours to record the sounds of the swifts as they entered the cave for the night. The swift's entrance was a breathtaking sight, as they flew into the cave with speed and grace.

The next day, we were the only ones in the cave and were able to capture the unique ambience as we explored on foot and by bamboo boat. The excitement reached its peak as we approached the exit and the bats began to click and scream louder and louder.

The recordings were made using top-notch equipment, such as the Schoeps CCM4, Schoeps CCM8, Sound Devices Mixpre6ii, and TASCAM X8, ensuring high-quality bat sound effects for you to use.
