We are in Ubud and there is no day without a ceremony and I was already on my way home and came down Hanoman road when I already listen to Gamelan in the distance. I came closer to sound and saw a group of young men sitting and playing traditional Balinese music. A group with at least 25 people and I stopped my motorbike and turn around. I went up and asked them if I can record this music and everybody was super nice and happy that somebody shows an interested in these sounds.

I recorded about one hour but after editing I had almost 35 minutes and I created 22 different tracks and the warm-up tracks are short version because the group started playing and stopped immediately so I cut the best parts.

The main tracks 01 and 02 are super powerful and I personally love the gongs. I think this is my favorite instrument from all of them.
A person sits between 3 or 4 huge gongs and created a deep feeling that goes under your skin.
I kept the microphones and the lowest level possible and was so scared not to clip these mics. It was so loud but so much fun listening to them.

At the end, we had a wonderful conversation and I promised the Guys to edit these sounds and send them the files over what I already did.
